Our 3e students are quite busy with the Fauna and Flora EPI, studied in English, SVT and arts. In the last period, they attended expert conferences from Dr Florens with the University of Mauritius, as well as his PhD students and representatives from Ecosystem Restoration Alliance, Indian Ocean. They had the chance to understand the local context and urgency when it comes to maintaining the endemic fauna and flora of Mauritius. They have started their visits at the Citadelle for planting trees on the northern flanks of the la petite montagne – an arduous tasks in the heat of Port Louis, but very much in line with the preservation of endemic species on the island. This project ends in December with a big conference where experts and students talk about key subjects for the local fauna and flora. Students can choose this project, among others, to present in the Oral du Brevet at the end of the year.
